Hi there and welcome to Trace My Family Tree!
My name is Amir (I usually go by Abba-Dad on my blogs) and I am a husband and father to two adorable girls. I am also a genealogy nut and amateur family historian. I started my journey a few years ago when I tried to remember who everyone in my family was and how we were all connected to each other. I had a hard time putting names to faces and figuring out all the connections. Since I didn’t know of anyone in my immediate family who had started a family tree, I decided to do it myself. I figured it would be a great asset to my daughters when they grew up since my wife and I come from completely different backgrounds.
Pretty quickly, I was immersed in pedigree charts, family group sheets and online databases and tools. It was easy to get confused by all the information out there and I made a lot of early mistakes (and still make some today). It’s still a learning process and I learn something new every day. So I created this blog to help beginning family historians get started on their journey by focusing on simple steps, tools, websites, resources and tips. I won’t go into any of my own research here unless there is something that would be helpful to you. I hope you find it useful!
